Artist Statement : "Sthumakwus is a Coast Salish word meaning Sasquatch. This print is dedicated to everyone, especially Native people who have their own stories, myths, and legends about Sasquatch. There are those who truly believe in these creatures and I thank them for their hard work and research to prove the existence of Sasquatch. I haven't personally seen one of these giants, but I believe someday that I will. This print is how I envision the Sasquatch. He is not a frightening figure, rather he is calm and gentle and moving slowly. I think that I would feel peaceful if I saw one. My ancestors of long ago actually saw this creature. The background in this design is a typical Northwest Coast mountain range."
