Artist Statement : "The flounder is mentioned in a Seagull story. The Gull brags that he can swallow the flounder whole. He is the only bird (besides the Great Blue Heron) who can do this. People make fun of the flounder because of his crossed eyes. But he laughs at them because he is so well hidden in the sand. He can't be found as he can see the people."
