Artist Statement :
"This design is a collaboration between the Thunderbird and the Moon. SOmetimes you can see Moon peeking through the clouds in the evening or night when there is thunderous activity. The Thunderbird is the most powerful spirit-helper in our cultural beliefs, and an esteemed one which is only held by chiefs in other Northwest Coast Tribes. That's one reason I would like to dedicate this print to my dad's first cousin, Chief Harvey Alphonse for all the good that he has done for our people. He himself is also a carver, and has carved totems in the City of Totems. Originally, this design was made for Chief Harvey Alphonse on a 4-foot, yellow cedar carved panel."
