Artist Statement : "The Sisiult is our family crest on my father's side, and the sun is on my mother's side. In Alert Bay, alot of the families with the Sisiult crest end up marrying into the families with the Sun crest. The reason for this is because the two different families who have these crests aren't related in any way. My mother and my father are both Kwakiutl Indians. My mother was from Cape Mudge and my father was from Turner Island which is now an abandoned village." Ozzie Wadhams
