Artist Statement : Inspired by Robert Davidson, the village of masset was the sight for aunique "celebration of life", in march 1980. The "tribute to theliving haida", brought together haida people and their friends fromthroughout british columbia, washington state and alaska. Singing,dancing and feasting took place to the enjoyment of all."the eagle dancer" is my tribute to this celebration and the messageit carried. (dy)
