Artist Statement : "This design shows us the Raven from the legend of Raven Stealing the Sun. Before the Raven could release the sun from its containment in a chief's bentwood box he had to first transform into the shape of a boy. The boy is shown within the body of the Raven. The Raven holds the sun in his beak after successfully capturing his prize. The form-line colour is red, which is the colour of life. The design is round as is the sun. It represents the transition of giving life and light." - as related by Eugene Alfred
