Visual Description :
First Nations preliminary sketch of a grizzly bear. Depicts a pole in the Village of Kispiox on the Skeena River. In addition to Sun Bear there are ancestors and references to whale in the legs of the bear. Several important Tsimshian/Gitxan legends are incorporated into this pole and drawing. Colour notations for the printing of serigraphs are given on the front and reverse of the drawing.
