Artist Statement :
The beaks of puffins were traditionally used on aprons, blankets and rattles as decoration. These birds are commonly seen on the Triangle Islands near Beau's home on the northern tip of Vancouver Island. In this print, Beau has combined three styles of Native art: the simple lines of the Inuit, the colour and fluidity of the Woodlands, and the classical forms of his own Northwest Coast art.
