Williams, Ray

Ray Williams is a member of the Nuu-chah-nulth people of the Ditidaht band on Vancouver Island and comes from a long line of traditional native carvers specializing in totem poles. Currently he resides in Seattle where he is a former council member of the Swinomish nation and has assumed leadership in the area of tribal business development. He is program director for the Native American Affairs office of the Catholic Archdiocese of Seattle and is responsible for outreach and liaison with native tribal governments and native communities throughout the state of Washington. Ray is also an active member of the traditional longhouse ceremonies of the Swinomish people.
