Weller Pottery was founded by Samuel A. Weller in Fultonham, Ohio, United States in 1872. The original business consisted of a small cabin and one kiln and initial products produced by Weller included flower pots, crocks, bowls, and vases. Weller Pottery moved to Zanesville, Ohio in 1892 and was a competitor of Rookwood and Van Briggle Potteries Charles Babcock Upjohn is credited with the introduction of the famous Weller Dickens Ware line. Weller continued to produce art pottery until the company went out of business in 1948.Samuel A.
