Weiwaikum (Wiweḵʼa̱m)

The Wei Wai Kum are the community of Kwakwaka'wakw peoples living in Campbell River, the Campbell River First Nation. They are part of the Laich-Kwil-Tach treaty society, which includes two others First Nations the Cape Mudge Band and Kwiakah First Nation. 1

The Wei Wai Kum First Nation speaks the Liḵ̓wala idalect of Kwak̓wala, which is also spoken by Kwakwaka'wakw communities on Quadra Island. 2

Artists and relatives Mark and Johnathan Henderson are from the Wei Wai Kum First Nation. The University of Victoria's Art Collections has over ninety pieces of their work.
