Artist Statement : "This design is Joe's second print depicting an Eagle; this time utilizing the spindle whorl format to confine the image. It is inspired by a Robert Davidson print. Joe has learned much from Simon Charlie and was discussing logo designs with him when this painting was conceived. The Eagle is an important crest figure among Northwest Coast peoples and they are frequently seen soaring above Joe's home town on Vancouver Island." Statement provided by Vincent Rickard, Pacific Editions.
