Artist Statement : "Years before contact time, beliefs on the Skeena River were many. At one particular point in time Shamans had the power of transformation (some believe it to this day). In this particular story a medicine man was at home and through a feeling realized someone in the village was in trouble. He burned cedar boughs and transformed into a hawk and flew to where he felt the trouble was. He found a hunter from his village who had fallen over a large cliff. He flew to the hunter & back to the village for help where the ma was brought home safely." - Robert Sebastian
