Visual Description : Northern Kwagiulth style button blanket from the 19th Century. Fabrics used are red and dark blue in colour. The pattern on the blanket is created with alabone shell buttons that are satin white in appearance. The blanket is symmetrical in design; patterns on the left side are repeated on the right. The outline of a fish (presumably a salmon), an arrow, and other simple line patterns such as 'X''s comprise the overall design of the blanket. Larger buttons arranged in a grid-like pattern appear in the central area of the blanket.
