Visual Description : Light-coloured leather suitcase made in Paris, France, by Louis Vuitton. The case has a number of metal fixtures, including a locking mechanism, latches, and studded bindings. The metal appears to be brass. The interior of the case is lined with an unknown light-coloured fabric. The removable shelf on the interior is also wrapped and lined with this fabric. Both the shelf and the case have metal-buckled straps made of the same fabric sewn into their bottoms. The metal of the buckles is the same metal used for the other fixtures. Inside the case is a purple canvas cover that presumably is used to cover the suitcase. The interior of the cover is lined with what appears to be purple velvet. The suitcase rests on a specially made, wooden stand that appears to have been a contemporary addition as a means of display. The initials M.G.W. are located on the exterior of the case and suitcase cover. These initials may be of the former owner.
