Visual Description : Long, carved whalebone; Tlingit shaman's baton. The baton is in the shape of a mustelid (small otter-like creature) in a crouched position with a long tail and extending front legs. The middle of the baton has a large triangular hole carved into it. The carvings are curvilinear in overall design and can be found on the top side only. The underside is curved. The overall colour is off-white and the texture is rough.
