Visual Description : This is a watercolour of a view from the coast of Vancouver Island looking across the Strait of Juan De Fuca towards Mt. Baker. It is done is a tight representational style. The coastline which the view is from is covered in bushes and grass, looking over the ocean to the snow capped Mt. Baker. There is a small point of land that juts out into the ocean on the left side in the bottom quarter of the picture plane. The colour palette is somewhat limited consisting of blue, white, green and brown and small areas of pink in the sky.
