Visual Description : This is a rectangular image of the coastline of Vancouver Island. On the right side there is a piece of land that is forested and meets the water's edge. In the distance there are two islands in the middle of the composition. Behind the Islands is a mountain range which spans from one side of the painting to the other. Above the mountains is a clump of clouds on the left side and the sun is setting. The brushwork is loose and soft and the style is representational. The colour palette consists of green, blue, purple, orange and brown.
