Artist Statement :
"Though in the present day the gambling game most popularly know as Bone Game is played as a guessing game, it stems from a beginning period of power songs and the mental power to move object at will.
The design here represents crows and blue stars as seen through a quartz crystal left eye. The faces double for the crows and the spirits of blue stars. " J.D.
This design was originally done on a drum that Joe David has been using in recent ceremonies and is the third in a series of four drum designs that Joe as been working on. The earlier designs were "Rainbow Drum" and "Medicine Drum".
The turquoise is from the colour of faded copper as derived from old West Coast pieces.
