Artist Statement : "'Thlop Kee Tupp' (Ditidaht for Thunderbird) was Art's father's name. It was given to Art in a name giving ceremony at a memorial ceremony for his father. This print is a self portrait depicting Art as a Thunderbird, the human presence indicated by hands in the lower part of the bird. As Art is an established wood carver, he has also included some traditional carving tools and a mask." (statement provided by Pacific Editions)
