Artist Statement :
This print, Eagle's Gift, commemorates the adoption of Joe by Robert Davidson at a potlatch given on November 6th and 7th, 1981. The whale wolf represents Joe's old name of Ka-Ka-Win Chealth and the Eagle represents the Eagle Clan of Robert Davidson. The star in the centre is a space left for a new name to be given to Joe at the potlatch. Te sky is representative of Haida songs, dances and crests that he will be given the rights to use.
