Artist Statement : "The people of the coast believed very strongly in the spirit. A great part of their lifestyle was based on spiritual quest and spiritual guidance. The Shaman was a gifted person with a certain knowledge linking the world we live in with the otherworld (land of the deceased). Here the picture shows a Shaman and a passenger on the back of a rattle, journeying to the other world." -S.G.
