Artist Statement : The moment involves three delicate harbingers of summer- two Banded Purple butterflies and a diminutive iris called Blue-eyes Grass. I have placed them together here not so much because of any intrinsic biological relationship but because they are similarly expressive- small, bright, lights on a moist July meadow.
