Artist Statement : Spellbound, not by bugling cadence Nor measured murmur of flexing pinions Sculpted by hasty departure. Through the reedy silence, fixed, You are held by the gaze of centuries. Cautious are the guardians Of Winter's quiet waters. In this latest 10-colour serigraph, Rick has portrayed the cautious gaze of trumpeter swans which he enjoyed observing this past season on their wintering grounds near his home on Vancouver Island. The image features individual highlights applied by the artist during the printing process. (Statement provided by Sweetgrass Studios)
